Movie review : Pay it Forward
The movie "Pay it forward" was released in 2000. This movie is for a general audience but I think it aims people who are thriteen years old and older.Catherine Ryan Hyde is the writer of this story and she wrote it in a novel released in 1999. The actors who play the main characters in the movie are Kevin Spacey, a thoughtful teacher, Helen Hunt, an alcoholic mother and Haley Joel Osment, a little child who is concerned about his family problems. They were all working together under the direction of Miriam Leder to make us think about how a single person can change the life of others. According to me, this movie made me realize that every single action that we do in life with good intentions can have a repercussion in our life or in other lives. Whether these consequences are good or bad, it's really important to make these little actions. So, as I already said there are three main characters in this story. This unique story is about an eleven year-old boy, named Trevor who tries to change the world as he can, by helping people. This boy started to do that, because his new teacher, Mr. Simmonet gave an appointment to his class to make them think about how they could change the world even though they are only children. The other main character is the mother of Trevor, Arlene McKinney who is struggling to make her life and the life of his son better. All these characters, with their secrets and their beliefs make a realistic movie, about actual problems. Far away, from the fairy tale, "Pay It Forward" is a movie about real life and people who struggle, people who cry, people who die, people who believe and people who smile. This is a movie that make you realize that people are people and that at the end of the line, what everyone does want, is happiness. Furthermore, the actors in this movie are really good. They are able to make you understand precisely how they feel. You can almost feel all their emotions, and this is a proof that they are doing their jobs really well. Haley Joel Osment is actually surprisingly good, despite his youth. To conclude, I hope that all these information on the movie "Pay It Forward" leave you with the idea of renting it and watching it right away!

<< Even broken wings can fly away >>
[ Sanctuary - Paradise Fears ]
<< See, we don't really care who you are,
We've kinda got this non-exclusive policy of determining exactly,
Who we open up to and let into our family,
And then who becomes a part of our united mass of harmony.
And that's kind of become the thesis to this song,
Through suffering, acceptance, grief, and strife,
There's no way that your puzzle piece fits into our puzzle wrong,
'cause everyone is welcome on this stage that we call life.
And we don't really care who you are,
Everyone is capable of looking up and wishing on a star.
So catch, so contagious, this day-dreamer's disease,
And hope can be your sword, slaying darkness with belief.
And we don't really care who you are,
Regardless of how lost you are returning from, regardless of how far.
So bring me all the worst of your broken, bruised, insane.
Because that's the thing with music: when it hits, you feel no pain.
No matter what you did, I promise we forgave it,
When all that's left is your voice, you've got no choice but to raise it.
All you broken hearts, all you dejected dreams,
Just let yourself be free
Because even broken wings can fly away >>
I chose to post this song, because this song means a lot to me. This text contains beautiful metaphores and deliver a good message. I think that everybody should know this song.

Laser Tag
In the second week of the Explore Program, I went to play Laser Tag with other Explore students in Ottawa. I think it was a great experience for all of us. We went after school, and we played thirty minutes in the free-for-all mode. So we had to shoot everybody and try to hide ourselves to not be shot too many times. We were chasing each other in a nice place. This place is really spaceful and there are a lot of obstacles as mirrors, wholes and walls. Furthermore, there was music playing while we were playing and it added to the suspense we were feeling. We played for thirty minutes and it seemed to me like fifteen minutes!! It was really fun! I recommand you to try it once in your life, because it's really funny. No matter how old you are, no matter your personnality, whether you're peaceful or you feel more warrior, you will enjoy this game. Also, even if it's a "chasing game", this is not violent at all, so nobody can be scared by this activity. Furthermore, when you go there, you can choose different modes like "free-for-all", or "Teamwork" and these two options are both interesting!!
So, whenever you can go, don't hesitate and GO! You'll have fun for sure!!

Art
Art... a word definitely hard to define...
Art can be a lot of things. Drawings, paintings, movies, songs, music, dances, sculptures, theatre plays and photographs are art for me. There is still another field that is art for me that I haven't mentionned yet. This field is about the architecture of monuments. According to me, this discipline is really impressive and sumptuous. Last year, at school I studied the "History of Art" so I had the chance to discover a lot of gorgeous and surprising monuments that were built in the past like the Acropolis in Athenes and the Sistine Chapel. I'm also lucky this summer because I have the chance to see the Parliament whenever I want to. Personally, I think it is a really attractive monument. Some might say that the Parliament is not Art, but for me it is because the architecture is much more complicated than the architecture of a common house. People who built it are real artists and they left a real treasure for the generations following theirs. Now that I'm here I really like to go there to be amazed by this architectural monument and this beautiful place as often as I can.

Introducing me
My name is Martin and I usually live in the province of Quebec. I'm seventeen years old and I've already done one year of Cegep, I'm studying in "Arts and Letters". I'm a guy who is open-minded and who really likes to exchange with other other people. I really love music. I can't live a whole day without listening to music or without singing. I love to do a lot of things that are related to the art like drawing, theater or singing. I think that an interest fact about me is that I really love to dance, so when I go to a dance party I'm always the last one standing that still want to dance when everybody is tired of dancing. I think this is funny. On another topic, I decided to come to Ottawa and to do this 5 week program to improve my knowledge of the english language because I want to become an english teacher! Furthermore, I look foward to go to Toronto! People from Explore and I will go to "Canada's Wonderland" where we can find the biggest rollercoasters in Canada, which is really exciting! I've never really had the chance to experience big rollercoasters, so I think this trip is going to be amazing!
